About The Quays, Bar, Restaurant & Music Hall, Galway

The award-winning Quays Bar Galway is the perfect spot to grab a chair outside and enjoy the craic agus ceoil. Come and watch the masses go by.

For over 400 years we have been a solid drinking establishment for Galwegians and visitors alike. There is an overload of character around every corner which you simply must see for yourself. Since being renovated to its current state in the early 1990s, the stained glass, carved wood, gothic arches, and pews are all prominent features in the venue. Subsequently, the space oozes with tradition from all aspects.

The Quays hosts live traditional music sessions seven nights a week and serve quality traditional Irish cuisine, not to mention the delicious oysters straight from the Galway Bay. Most nights you will find locals and tourists enjoying the buzzing atmosphere. Therefore, if you are a solo traveler in Galway, stop by the Quays where there will always be a friendly face and a pint waiting!

Upstairs is a spectacular live music venue with a pipe organ stage on stilts. Every weekend bands from all over Ireland bellow out good old fashioned Rock ‘n’ Roll and timeless hits from the 60’s to now. Many TV music specials are also filmed in the Quays music hall, including the famous Glor TÍre on TG4. Ireland’s newest country and western music stars take to the stage every year and the doors are always open to enjoy the live show as it happens.
