Located in the city centre of Galway’s vibrant ‘Latin Quarter’ The Quays, Galway is one of Galway’s most famous and historic music drinking establishments. For close on 400 years The Quays has catered to both Galwegians and visitors to our city.
Upstairs is a spectacular live music venue with a pipe organ stage on stilts. Every weekend bands from all over Ireland come to perform. We host a array of acts which play a mix of genres from rock and pop to blues and classics. Many TV music specials are also filmed in the Music Hall, including the famous Glór Tíre on TG4.
We are delighted to welcome you to The Galway Girl Restaurant in The Quays!
We serve food seven days a week from 12 – 9pm. Our menu features traditional Irish dishes, that have been passed down through generations, as well as a modern take on some of our favourites. By using locally sourced ingredients, we aim to serve the freshest, tastiest meals.
Great classic bar This place had the best live music we found in Galway. Vibes were great, and the crowd was a nice mix of tourists and locals. We had some nice chats with the locals, who were all very friendly and ended up buying us drinks while we all enjoyed the music. This was one of the funnest nights we had in Ireland.
Great Bar The best bar in Galway City, a lovely renovated bar in the heart of Galway city. Great music and friendly staff, especially Kevin. Great smoking area upstairs. Definitely worth a visit
Friendly, Welcoming Pub. We found this pub on our first day in Galway and just kept going back. The staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was jovial.
A great place for music and some pints Went here on a wednesday and it was live music and Lively.
Had a couple of pints and met some nice people. Several bars so bar service was fast. Several areas allow you to decide how loud you want the music.
Great craic for a midweek pint or 7 Had a stay in Jurys last night and decided go for a quiet pint before retiring to my bed.
I walked up the street and saw the Quays.
I enquired with the security staff as to whether there was music and they said there was music both upstairs and down. It was great!
Band downstairs were brilliant, absolute magic and I would have stayed there if it wasnt for the fact they had to finish early for some reason so I went upstairs to have a look while I finished my pint. The band upstairs were a real party band, a different vibe to the band downstairs but equally as entertaining. Im ashamed to say 1 pint turned into 6 or 7 due to the music but 10/10 no regrets despite a sore head.
Nice pints, nice staff, good music, great night.
